Second Innovation World Cup All About the Cloud – Cloud Innovation World Cup Kicking-Off at EuroCloud Congress in Luxembourg
The world’s leading World Cup for innovative technologies is introducing a new competition: The Cloud Innovation World Cup will kick-off at the annual EuroCloud Congress in Luxembourg today, October 15.
Most people think of the cloud as a large number of computers connected through a network – but the definition is changing. Instead, the “cloud” now also describes connecting and sharing different devices, like smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc., the inclusion of VoIP or more general, the Internet of Things. 2013 is the” year of the cloud”: Many big players are now adapting their services to the cloud; new companies are offering different consolidated services, long established cloud providers are expending their services.
In partnership with EuroCloud, an independent non-profit organization, present in 30 European countries, the Cloud Innovation World Cup is now looking for innovative cloud solutions and applications. During EuroCloud’s Dinner Gala in Luxembourg tonight, Christian Stammel, Founder and CEO Navispace AG, will announce the start of the Cloud Innovation World Cup. Additionally, Christian and representatives from partner companies will be part of the panel discussion “Cloud Innovation” on the second day of the EuroCloud Congress.
“We are very excited to partner with Navispace for the Cloud Innovation World Cup. Cloud computing is gaining more importance with both, enterprises and consumers alike, and we think, the Cloud Innovation World Cup is the right platform to find new and innovative applications and solutions.” says Mr. Bernd Becker, Chairman at EuroCloud.
From October 15, 2013 until March 15, 2014, developers, innovators, inventors, are welcome to submit their cloud computing solution or application free of charge into one of five main categories – ICT Business Services, Smart Living, Mobility, Urban Infrastructure, and Industry 4.0 – and the special prize “Evolve Insurance Award” by Allianz Digital Accelerator.
All submissions will be judged and reviewed by an international team of experts. Winners and runner-ups will be awarded at the Awards Ceremony in June 2014. In addition to cash prizes, the overall winner and “Innovator of the Year” will benefit from extensive promotional activities and a global network of like-minded and possible future business partners.
